A Charming Charleston Wedding| Nicole & Tyler - 11.12.22

Hidden away in the breathtaking trees of Charleston, Nicole and Tyler experienced their best day ever! Last fall, Simply Enchanted Events traveled to Charleston South Carolina for the most gorgeous destination wedding. We had our couple Nicole & Tyler from the very beginning, guiding them through every step of planning out their destination wedding. These high school sweethearts loved to travel and had to have their wedding somewhere truly unique.

Originally, we had our hearts set on Savannah Georgia, but we soon fell in love with Runnymede Plantation in Charleston, SC. Tiffany, the Owner of Runnymede, welcomed us to her gorgeous property and allowed us to explore the 300 acres of land. We were in awe of the magnificent oak trees surrounding the property. With the enchanting surroundings of Runnymede, Nicole and Tyler chose to have their ceremony down by the Ashley River with a large oak tree as their backdrop. Their whimsical forest ceremony was like a dream! Guests gathered around sitting in willow chairs from Snyder Event Rentals facing the massive oak tree. Tupelo Honey Flower Shop added garden style dusty blue floral and greenery, creating the most stunning intimate space for Nicole & Tyler to say their “I Dos”.

A few 100 yards over, guests gathered under Runnymede’s Angel Oak tree for drinks and fun! Nosh Boards of Charleston curated the most exquisite charcuterie board for their guests. It was a huge hit! Guests mingled, ate and drank under the dazzling string lights illuminating the night sky as we prepared for the big reception!

We talked about the tented reception design for many months and to finally see our design come to life was just incredible. Nicole and Tyler vision consisted of a whimsical, fairy-like forest wedding and we did exactly that! Tupelo Honey Flower Shop suspended a greenery wreath over the dance floor and adorned the farm tables with delicate moss, charming lanterns and soft orange and cream floral creating a truly spectacular design. To enhance the romantic ambiance, we had string lights and soft draping overhead, while the rattan chandeliers created a warm and inviting glow. Lit Charleston's expertise in lighting and draping completely transformed Nicole and Tyler’s reception space.

During our planning, we stumbled upon the most delectable chocolate wedding cake baker in town. The delightful Christen from "The Chocolate Cake" is adored in Charleston for her amazing cakes and truly impressed us. We loved this nontraditional wedding cake for Nicole & Tyler!

One of the “must haves” on Nicole’s list was a live wedding painter and our hearts were captivated by the wonderful and talented Melissa Munger. Upon arrival, she came with the most unique setup I’ve ever seen. It was such a fascinating display of workspace that she had off to the side, under their reception tent. Melissa captured Nicole & Tyler’s first look under the charming oak trees and worked on it all through the night. Watching her work was such an unforgettable experience and I would recommend her a thousand times over.

Nicole and Tyler completed the wedding night with a private last dance to Lana Del Rey’s “Young & Beautiful”. After enjoying their final moments along under the tented reception lights, they were greeted with a farewell sparkler exit leading them to their getaway car – a 1957 Chevy Bel Air from Whip Dash Charleston. Hand in hand, the ran through the radiant glow of the sparklers and rode away as the new Mr. and Mrs. Bolles!

Nicole and Tyler’s charming Charleston wedding will forever hold a special place in our hearts. It was an absolute pleasure to be involved in every aspect of planning and designing this wedding starting from scratch and I would do it all over again. Cheers to these two on many years of happiness!
