Barbie Inspired Shoot

Updated: Sep 15, 2023

Hi Barbie! What an incredible styled shoot we had. This past August, I gathered some of my favorite Orlando Wedding Vendors to join me in a Barbie Themed Style Shoot and it was sublime!

Let’s take a moment to talk about the details of this shoot! Danison of Bowtie & Brush is absolutely amazing so I knew he had to be part of this. I really wanted to focus on new and current trends, so I asked him for laser cut invitations, acrylic menu cards and my favorite - the 3D welcome sign. I let him know the colors were pink and he was sold! He nailed every single detail and was our biggest cheerleader during the shoot.

Our Barbie was the lovely Laura Reynolds of Laura Reynolds Artistry and our Ken was her husband Mitchell. They were getting ready to celebrate their two year wedding anniversary so this was perfect timing! Laura Reynolds had her hair and makeup team work up the perfect Barbie look. She went with the classic high ponytail and a soft glam look for the day. We had two gorgeous dresses from Solutions Bridal. Erica, the Owner of Solutions, dressed our Barbie in a floral flowy gown and it was definitely the Barbie look. We had our Ken in a stylish dark navy velvet suit from Leonardo’s 5th Avenue!

Cona studios had them pose in certain positions to make them look like they were in actual doll form. We were all cracking up! Between the hand placement and the stares off into the distance, Tony & Jenn from Cona Studios knew what they were doing!

The ceremony was breathtaking! Andie from The Flower Studio Oxford provided all the floral and balloons for the shoot. We wanted to create a heart arch, because what else would Barbie get married in front of? Andie suggested a mixture of balloons and floral all in shades of pink and that was that! It was the perfect setting for a gorgeous ceremony space at The Capen House.

The reception table were so fun to design. I loved that it was completely pink from the floral down to the chargers. We had pink glittery chargers, pink water Goblets and the gold napoleon chairs from A Chair Affair. Then we had pink napkins and white textured linen from Connie Duglin.

Staying on trend - we had to have a pink vintage heart shaped cake! Cyndol from Cake and Baked provided the cutest cake for our Barbie & Ken to "cut" into. We had the couple use pink champagne flutes as a fun alternative to the traditional cake cutting.

We repurposed the balloons and florals from the arch over the cake and set it by the stairs at The Capen House. We switched Laura into a mini reception dress with gloves from Solutions Bridal and she looked incredible!

We of course had to have Barbie's dream car at this shoot! Cole's Classic Car's brought a 1959 Teal Blue Bonneville and we were all living our barbie dream. Laura & Mitchell were naturals at posing with the car!

We had the cutest little lounge setup from A Chair Affair for a mini charcuterie board from Sigrid's Savoury Platter's. Such a fund option to have at your cocktail hour!

At the end of the day, we gathered around to give our Barbie & Ken a special grand exit with Ribbon Wands down The Capen House steps. Some venues don't allow sparklers and a lot of our couples are wanting different options for their exits, so we thought this was a fun one to feature.

All the vendors brought their A-game to this shoot! It was so inspiring working with everyone on something we all felt so passionate about - Barbie. I loved that Laura & Mitchell were our real life barbies and truly had the best day ever creating this vision. What shall we do next?!
